Quick Instructions for getting set up for teaching in Zoom
- Sign into Zoom at LIU you will need to use your full university email address (firstname.lastname@example.org OR email@example.com) this will set up your account.
- Log into Blackboard with your email credentials (“jdoe” and password) , select your course then follow these instructions to connect Zoom to your course.
- Schedule your classes and start each session from within Blackboard.
Blackboard enables instructors to provide students with course materials, discussion boards, virtual chat, online quizzes, an academic resource center, and more. The degree to which Blackboard is used in a course varies. For example, instructors may supplement an on-campus class by putting their syllabus and handouts on their course sites. In contrast, other courses may be conducted entirely through Blackboard, with fewer or no on-campus sessions.
Every LIU course is automatically created in Blackboard, but the Blackboard course site must first be activated by the instructor before students can access course content. When students or instructors log into Blackboard with your LIU credentials, each course you are enrolled in will automatically appear as a tab in the top navigation bar in your workspace.
